It's already past midday, but there's some tidying up to do after some fireworks last night [actual ones, left over from Guy Fawkes night a year or two ago] and daughter Anita and boyfriend Chris Robertson leave this afternoon to live in Melbourne. Tomorrow Aki-san Kotoh and wife Shoko go back to winter in Japan and 70 hours a week work for him. Poor guy! They want to escape to NZ. She lived in France from age 6 to 13. Both have had a great holiday. This morning, daughter Melissa texted and said grandson Hayes [nearly 6 months old] is crawling [he had been figuring it out the last few days]. Good friend John Ashbolt moved out to the spinal unit two days ago to start 2006 in recovery mode after bending neck in fall at home. Daughter Emily and Aaron Chan living in London and now holidaying in Switzerland over Xmas. So, day one and it's all go in 2006. I wonder what the heck is going to happen THIS year. There's bound to be plenty. H5N1 seems to have missed the boat though. Good job! Okay, time to do traditional lawn mowing. Happy New Year to all [except for Yiwu the Mad]. With not much time to go, the Year of the Feather Duster is drawing to a close and Yiwu and ilk have been sensible [sort of]. Ilk is such an annoying word [kind of like 'racist' - used to show disapproval without reasoning]. Mqurice
