What could a reason be for a President of the US to do this....??? ANY President....

For one, asserting the power and authority of the presidency is a mainstay of presidents, any and all of them (well, maybe not Jimmy Carter). For another, there's politics. You think that presidents are somehow above using events for political advantage? And then there's anger. Presidents don't get angry when things don't go their way?

Good grief, back atcha.

Civics 101.

Checks and balances.

Term limits.

President rather than king or ruler for life.

Some Presidents are good. Some are bad.

Some are smart. Some not so smart.

Some have good character. Some do not.
