Bush's approval amongst troops falls to 54%.
A rare poll of the troops shows that despite the rightwing brainwashing soldiers get, they aren't falling for it.

Bush's approvals are where Nixon's were during Watergate.
With a full-scale PR offensive combined with the Iraq election and the press and democrats on holiday for two weeks, Bush managed to bring his numbers up from 35% to 40%, but don't expect them to stay there. That's a very soft 40%. But the 55%+ who disapprove are hardened. And they're right.

The Iraq elections put Islamics in charge, a potential disaster, and now the corruption trials of the decade will dominate political news for a long time in the US, including DElay, Frist, Rove, Blunt and Cheney, and the investigation into Bush's illegal domestic spying, which honest conservatives Lugar, Specter and Graham have insisted upon.

This domestic spying is serious business. If he's proven Bush illegally spied on anyone but Osama Bin lauden's henchmen, he deserves the big heave ho, impeachment with extreme prejudice. Bush knows Nixon's history and knows the Supreme Court made this illegal by a 9-0 vote. He was deliberately breaking the law. Probably to spy on Kerry and other opponents.

New special test for Muslims seeking citizenship

2 January 2006
expatica.com

STUTTGART - A German state, Baden-Wuerttemberg, said Friday it will tighten its rules on Muslims seeking German citizenship because it doubts whether some are sincere in their oath to democracy.

Government officials are to question Muslims more closely than other applicants from January 1 under the new policy.

The state interior ministry in Stuttgart said it could not be assumed that a Muslim's declaration of support for democracy always reflected their private attitude, so a departmental handbook would require a more thorough check on the applicant's allegiance.

Baden-Wuerttemberg is the only one of Germany's 16 states to institute a special test for Muslims seeking naturalization.

The new handbook contains 30 questions asking an applicant's views on equality between men and women, the September 11, 2001 plane-hijack attacks on New York and Washington, religious freedom and whether violent revenge is acceptable behaviour.

The questions will be posed to applicants from the 57 nations in the Islamic Conference Organization (ICO).

Interior Minister Heribert Rech said the questions were not discriminatory. He said Germany had the right to check whether people's declarations that they accept democracy are sincere.

Clinton was cleared of ALL CHARGES after the most exhaustive investigation and partisan witchhunt into every aspect of his entire life in US political history. Not a single ethics violation was discovered except that he occasionally cheats on his wife, which we knew going in. CLinton was and is much more honest than Bush, and his cabinet had a pretty clean record. It was much cleaner than any Republican administration in our lifetimes. Especially the awfully corrupt and dishonest GW Bush administration and their pals in the Delay congress. A bunch of crooks, thieves and weasels.

Exxon just posted the world's greatest-ever profit, 10.7 billion for one quarter. That's partly our money stolen from us thanks to Bush-Cheney-Delay and their Texas cronyism. Enjoy your tax cut? Use it to pay for your 50% increases in energy, gas, health costs and tuition under Bush. Or go to Europe and spend your 40% weaker dollars. Plus enjoy paying off the Bush deficits for the next 15 years.

Name one thing wrong for the country Clinton did. He was a fantastically successful president an really helped the country. Who cares what he did in his private life? I mean, Cheney just a shot a guy in the face. That's a lot worse than a BJ from an eagerly willing intern. And Bush used to be al alcoholic womanizing cocaine snorter. So what? If Bush were doing a good job no one would care.
