One winter in Oceanside, I surfed in the morning and went sledding in the afternoon! It really is quite amazing.

My ideal place to rent year round would have to be
Santa Barbara. You are right you get an incredible lifestyle by just renting by the beach in SoCal especially if you don't have to go to a job<g>
