Unless there is an oil shock as a result, the world will not change much if Israel blows up some nuclear related sites in Iran. If there is an oil shock there will be a sharp global recession -- and that is a possibility. If Israel attacks Iran, there could be an oil shock. Personally I think that Israel has been totally ineffective in securing its security and its future. I will not be surprised to see Israel destroyed by a nuclear attack at some point in the future. I do not want this outcome -- no sane person does. But I do not see any progress towards peace -- and eventually that will assure the destruction of Israel. Nuclear war in the middle east -- its a nightmare. From an economic standpoint, the only serious issue is the impact on oil -- that is the hard cold fact. If Israel was attacked with nuclear weapons, the world could go on -- albeit in the worst of political circumstances. If Israel strikes Iran, the leat we should expect is $150-200 per barrel -- which would be a very positive development for the global environment and a kick to the groin of the global economy -- perhaps we should be braced for this. The impact on the dollar would be to cause the dollar to fall by the way, not rise.
