Hi Marcos,

I saw you comments about how they started mines on the cheap in the old days, but now it takes megabucks. As an investor/speculator, would you really be interested in an outfit thumbing their nose at 43:101 reserves and barging ahead with only limited reserves proven ? (I would be, and am lol)

marcos, when the 1M mkt cap National Gold got Mulatos after
Placer and Kennecot had spent C$50M on it, for the 250k down
payment, it was touch and go. It took all the National people
and a lot of luck. And Alamos came in at a critical time.

These people are still in the news:

Albert Matter has just IPO'd Gryphon Gold, GGN with US and Can listings. (I am in of course).

And Chester Millar is featured in this month Resource World mag.

James McDonald, still a Director of Alamos, is also CEO of
Genco GGC, and has started a new gold jr KTN (in that too).

BB stocks: Yes I got in MMNN Mines, the big silver-cu deposit
which they got back when Noranda quit, after meeting with the
CEO, a geo professor, co had 5M sh out after 45 yrs
(jrs today have more than that in a yr or two). Thrifty.
Still meet with Professor W. Green on his Vancouver trips,
he in helping Tim Hunt of Spokane with his new HuntMountain
HNTM new jr listing (I am in that also).

Will MMGG repeat and become a big multi-bagger like that ??
Have no idea, but they realize the value of a Toronto or Amex
listing and I expect will be making a similar move.

Glad to see you at the jr game again marcos, great yr shaping up IMO.

This is somewhat misleading, because this was not your typical mining deal. Placer and Kennecott did the work, and National Gold got the property because of prior connections (with Kennecott). Alamos got in because of the sweet deal that National Gold made at cents on the (exploration investment) dollar. The arrangement with the ejido was relatively simple for the new group. Several other sweet deals have become important in the last couple of years, including Western Silver at Penasquito.

Too many times investors see the easy part of the deal, and not the years of effort put into the property. Granted, for the investors in the property as a new deal, that is what they should see! They have managed to get in without the risk. But the history of the property should be weighed accordingly! For example, saying that it would be easy for Alamos to "screw up", in reality, it would be difficult for that to happen; the main benefit was in the deal.

This is something that has to be taken into account during DD.
