One of the problems as I understand it, is that those minimum pay jobs, which often is all a welfare recipient is capable of obtaining, end up costing the recipient a loss of disposable income as they then have to get child care and all resulting in less net money in their pocket then sitting on welfare.
Rather then PUSH them into low paying, non productive jobs IMHO we ought to INSIST that anyone getting welfare be entered into a government approved education program to learn a skill. Such should start out just like the military does with pretesting to learn a persons ability or aptitude and then enroll them. To continue to get welfare they should have to PASS a continual grading of progress. Graduation comes with a JOB OFFER and ACCEEPTANCE. If this means a move, we move em. jdn
