Well, GM got themselves onto the brink of bankruptcy.

So it goes.

The government does better with bailouts than this type of rescue.

I read, in Forbes I think, that GM spends 750 million a year on job banks for laid off GM Union workers. That 30 odd thousand that are getting furloughed will be on full pay and benefits per an agreement hammered out around 1983.

Who needs to support that kind of management strategy?

I don't know what they will do, but GM dug themselves a hole that they can't get out of.
