But power consumption of computers went up You are right. And electricity prices are starting to jump just in the last few weeks and months in response to the spike in natural gas prices. Google looks like it has been doing a good job of containing its electric costs because it builds its own servers and thinks a lot about power consumption and related issues of efficiency. But they are the exception rather than the rule. I can't deny that Sun is on to something, in spite of my proclivity for playing Devil's advocate once in a while. Sam
