Not at all. Profit doesn't matter since GPS was primarily conceived as a military application, and our military relies on it for any number of critical uses. There is no way that the US would rely on an European system for military applications especially since GPS and presumably Galileo can be turned off and on.

Satellite positioning systems provide a huge amount of control over policies.

I think the US has committed itself to not ever turning off GPS. But this is cold comfort to the Euros and the rest of the world in the event of a serious disagreement.

The Euros had been using the French Arianne rockets to launch their satellites. A few years ago, they were total crap. A few of them exploded, delaying Galileo substantially. Looks like they are finally catching up.
