I am not sure what you mean. Perhaps my turn of the phrase "I suspect you got your information from here" I should have followed with "or a similar publication." I didn't assume what you had expressed to be false and went looking for the information. As it stands the story sounds a little mundane. The professor did not lose his tenured position nor was that ever in question and I am not convinced the CIA wanted to remove him from the project because of the information he provided or didn't provide about the breakup of China. He had a fairly long relationship with the CIA, I strongly suspect there were other factors.
