Dropping GM from the DOW would just batter the stock even further. The DOW has too many index investors.

It is also amazing how these indexes are supposed to reflect the state of a business sector or even the economy. However, when they under perform a quick fix is underway.

All statistics and evaluation points need to be managed in today's world. What effect does this have on DOW theory and many other evaluation methods? Garbage in, garbage out.
