"I agree with his point that I *probably* would feel worse"

You were right.

"I admit that it's 'impossible' to actually know in advance of such a thing what my emotions would be"

Then it is impossible for you to know any of your emotions in advance. Most people (including me) can look inside themselves and make judgements on how they may feel. To me this is an easy one (but not very pleasant to ponder). It would be "bone crushing" either way, but much worse if I did it myself. I hit a cat in my car when I was in college. Felt a lot worse than just seeing a dead cat. Similar principal imo.

"and I state that I 'doubt I would feel any better' if someone else resulted in my child's death".

Can't you see that "probably worse" and "doubt" you would feel better are opposite positions? Probably-impossible-doubtful Buddy.

Anyway, we can see if you want to make this into one of your 20 post exchanges. I'm not interested in doing that (again), but I thought it was a good example of your inconsitent thinking.
