To be truthful, karen...I am negative to the substances themselves. Period. They don't seem to add much of anything to anyone's life, other than an occasional high. Healthwise, they add nothing, but sorrow in the long run. Both drugs and alcohol add nothing but sorrow to the general public as well, especially when there is a rape, robbery, or murder caused because of the substance abuse.

I haven't seen a single rational good thing that has happened for an individual or society because either of these items are around.

I understand they won't go away.

I understand that people have to be responsible for themselves and their behavior.

I understand that the addiction is irrational.

I am against prohibition because there will always be those who will make and provide these substances, either legally or illegally.

I am dismayed how many people won't bother to even study the effects of alcohol and drugs to society.

It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if both drugs and alcohol were banished from the earth. Except the drugs that are under prescription for human wellbeing. Some of these are highly addictive as well, but at least we have a better chance of some professional oversight if/when negative reactions set in.

Thus, if you go back through my statements earlier, you will see why I am asking the questions I ask.
