I agree with you, haqihana... but I believe you are overlooking my comments about 'small poxy blankets and modern weapons'. (I never said just 'blankets'....) I would recommend another excellent book to you: Of Plagues and Peoples. It is the best explanation I've ever read for the mathematics underlying the massive influence DISEASE has had on the history of the world (with a whole lot of information concerning the 'conquering' of the new world). For example, disease is reported to have moved '200 miles' ahead of the Spanish conquistadors in Mexico... felling 90%+ of the locals before the Spanish even arrived. Many other excellent historical events are profiled.
