I take your point. Still, if O'Reilly is his guest, expectations change.

Apparently the segment started off with a discussion of the war on Christmas. I haven't yet found a transcript of that but I imagine it got the parties aroused. I would imagine that Letterman would find that on his list of the top ten most stupid issues of all time. <g>

I agree with that. I have no reason to suspect that Letterman and the rest aren't. Surely they understand some of their audience is affected by their politics, not just their performances. I would imagine that they have looked at the issue and determined it small enough to write off. Or at least some of their staff have.
