Message 20912402 In reality I don't care one way or the other as to whether shorting will be allowed in this contest. My concern is that often individuals take exception to those short a stock as if it an evil undertaking. In actuality shorting can be the catalyst for a stock exploding to the upside, thus a short portofio could work to long's advantage. The allowance to shorting makes the playing field more even for all especially in this day of bulletin board touting of the next Microsoft, and trust me...true shorting takes more DD for those who do it than those going long a stock.
