"The same could be said about BSD on which OS X is based."

The kernel is based on Mach. It does have an awful lot of BSD in it, though. Apple has the annoying habit of putting stuff in odd subdirectories which makes it an adventure to find logs and things.

I didn't mean to say that OS/X couldn't be reliable, although after working with it in a heavily networked environment it can do some awfully odd things, but I did want to dispell the implication that the only choices were OS/X and Windows.

IB, Re: The same could be said about BSD on which OS X is based.>

Amazing. I thought only the Microsoft products were based on the Blue Screen of Death. Or is this some other less well known BSD you're talking about?
