12:34 AMSC Am Superconductor: Color on D.O.D. contract (8.81 +0.37) Ardour notes yesterday's AMSC announcement that it has been awarded a $5.35 mln follow-on contract from the D.O.D Title III program for accelerating the scale-up of its manufacturing of 2G H.T.S. [second-generation high-temperature superconductor] tech. The firm says that while this announcement was relatively predictable, the important takeaway is the validation that AMSC has received from the U.S. Gov that it is satisfied with AMSC and the 2G H.T.S tech. The firm notes that this marks a milestone for AMSC since it indicates that the co has moved beyond the development phase and into the manufacturing phase of the project.
