Dear Joe:

Like I said, you don't need a TV. The computer could say into your headset, "playing favorites, first tune, smoke on the water, volume 85." Simple. You talk, it responds either by actions or by telling you.

To play tunes, you need a soundcard anyway (many have it on the MB) and it has a headphone jack and a mic jack. Plug in the wireless transmitter to the jacks, hook the system to the home LAN, teach the voice recog software the commands (words), put the line outs to your sound system and you have a remote wireless voice controlled MP3/CD(/DVD-audio) player. Expand to your needs and desires.

Pete

PS, all you really need is for a Linux based Geode like SOC with 8-16MB of DRAM and a flash drive. All it needs to do is do the voice recog and it could through the LAN run the appropriate programs on the PCs and Servers already in place. Anything you can do on a text console, you could do from the headset. No LCD needed. Heck, the AMD 50x15 PIC could do it with some mods.
