The Frontline show last night on China highlighted a small(13.5k) town in Ohio that is going belly up from Chinese competition. They had two big factories churning out TV parts. WMT is the key player in Chinese imports to the US. Really quite amazing business plan. Bottom line, the factories went to China and WMT is building a superstore next door to the vacant factories. The unemployed can now get a new job for $6-7 hr instead of the $15-16 they were making. I don't see how that kind of attrition can sustain what already appears to be rock bottom real estate prices.

The parting comment from the Mayor:

Q. "Where are the new workers graduating from high school going to find jobs?"

Mayor. "I don't know."
