I don't expect disasters to effect the dollar much unless we experience a terrorist attack. The climate issues however carry a big political price in terms of world support and sympathy. It is tough and very expensive to be a world hegemon if you have to maintain your position by force.

However, I believe that the other fundamentals you mention are asserting themselves and the dollar will suffer from it.

Now by "global warming" I assume you mean "global warming due to human activity"?? Aren't the data and level of scientific agreement on these two quite different?

That said IMO Regi is right:

US may need some sympathy going forward.
