Abramoff is a 98% rightwing GOP scandal. Yes, there were a few Dems who took money. And Dorgan was the first to give it back, btw, but if no favoritism is shown in return for those donations then nothing wrong was done. It is perfectly to take contributions from a lobbyist, but highly illegal to return the favor by selling your vote in congress to that lobbyist's special interest.

I think you'll see dozens of rightwing GOP congressmen who did just that. And if there are 1-2 democrats who got caught up in it, fine, then they can fall too. But 60 congressmen are cited as implicated with Abramoff, all run through Tom Delay, and of those I think 57 are Republicans. And not just Republicans but mainly Tom DElay Bushie corrupt cronies.
