yeah, I think so. The real benefit is in customer master data. Thats a huge bugaboo for supply chains. With SF.com I think you can tag your customer to be "equal" to another user's customer, or something to that effect. It is very powerful.

Really, in more general terms this architecture is just another spin on the trend that started in the 90s and maybe earlier with consolidation across only a few ERP platforms. Of course moving from some custom solution to SAP or whatever is a big pain, and most of the time the customers don't see an immediate ROI (although sometimes they do). But really, whats happening is all of the US business data is conforming and thats what we really need for supply chain and demand chain technology worldwide.

Anyway Bob, yeah I know CRM is super-super expensive. Some SV people think CRM can make .40-.50 per share this year though, which is way above consensus estimates. You know how these growth stocks go, sometimes you just have to hold your nose and buy. BUt anyway I am not in CRM at this moment because my money is tied up elsewhere, but I am looking at it and I think we will experience a tipping point at some point.
