Thanks, if Roserem increases REM sleep then maybe it's worthwhile despite what seemed like insignificant increases in sleep duration; quality over quantity. If Lunesta and Ambien don't alter sleep architecture, then doesn't that suggests REM PROportion remains the same, and the absolute amount increases?

>>Melatonin increases REM sleep, so I'm guessing that Rozerem might do the same. Lunesta and Ambien basically don't alter sleep architecture, so portion of REM sleep should be pretty much unchanged.

It is hard for me to understand the reduction in depression attributed to Lunesta (used in conjunction with SSRI's) without REM sleep being induced.

Or am I just jumping to unsupportable conclusions again?
