The hell there isn't. When unleaded hits 4 bucks nationwide this summer, nobody will be considering 17/22 "efficient". Comparing the GM SUV line to the one Honda truck is insane, Honda's fleet gets much better mileage overall compared to everyone except perhaps Toyota. GM got caught with their pants done, just like they did in '73-'74, only this time instead of losing their market share, they'll lose their solvency.

Mish,

My comments regarding MPG are more about consumers seeking more practical choices when gas hits new highs.

GM has done an outstanding job engineering this program. When the design was first on the table, most of the suppliers for some key interior components told GM that the tolerances could not be met. One company stepped up and actually hit the "pie in the sky" target that GM demanded. The result is the fit and finish of the 900 platform is going to be world-class.
