2005 REVIEW - PART 1

People came and went, BUT there were a ton of stocks discussed on this thread. The highlights:

JANUARY

Ditch starts the year off with RGUS.OB, a rotary engine manufacturer. A quick play.

Eddie MacG and Sergio compared FVL and GDV for safe investment. Without dividend comparison:

Ray's first pick for the year of many to come(too many to mention in this review) is ICA. ICA started 2006 with a new high.

Lawrence's first selection is DECK. Migh be worth taking a look at now. Look at the xover setup:

FXEN was one of Ray's infrequent FA attempts. Ray was worried that FXEN would run out of cash. Later in the year, Cramer spotlighted FXEN but the stock ran out of gas, hitting a new low on Friday.

Steve Allen's first pick was CTHR, which ran from 10-30 during the year before settling back to 20 area, where the 200 day MA lies.

Unfortunatly, after a few solid picks, Steve grew increasingly annoyed with the limitations of Clearstation and stopped contributing here.

Still early in January, Ray fidgets between the SOX and Oil Sectors. Ditch counters with a play on the BTK and Ray settles on the Networkers. Ditch comes back with a switch to Pharma and Ken W. suggests Consumer staples.

Ray added MU to the folio. Look at (;-)) the GAP that never filled!

Ditch mentioned INTC and UPS for long term picks. HonJohn seconded UPS, "They have been wearing out the pavement to my place."

Bernard and Sergio argued about LF. For the month of January, Sergio was right, albeit, Bernard's crytal ball predicted a longer term turnaround for this stock.

Mid January, JoeInIowa reports a losing position in ALAN at .90.

stockcharts.com[w,a]dacayiay[dd][pb50,10!b200!f][vc60][iut!Lv25!Lw25]&pref=G

Bernard taunts Sergio for wrong call on TGAL. "Adding TGAL.
Good, I am trying to sell some of mine at $1.60."

stockcharts.com[w,a]dacayiay[dd][pb50,10!b200!f][vc60][iut!Lv25!Lw25]&pref=G

Sector rotation continues with Ditch swinging on USPIX while Ray dabbles on networkers and labels the market SHORT TERM UNBEATABLE.

Bernard calls on Ken W. for the first time in 2005 for an upgap opinion. This time on LCBM. Ken correctly gives it a green light. How does he do that?

A call to Rainier to join the thread goes unanswered.

Sergio warns that DFIB will crash.

Puddle admits to owning a large stake in ARIA but is not sure of its prospects:

Sergio and Ray look for Hispanic plays and settle on LQU:

stockcharts.com[w,a]dacayiay[dd][pb50,10!b200!f][vc60][iut!Lv25!Lw25]&pref=G

Ray introduced and Aroon indicators and Bernard added tutorial material.

stockcharts.com[w,a]dacayiay[dd][pb50,10!b200!f][vc60][iut!Lv25!Lw25]&pref=G
