Yes, the commander in chief needs warrants to spy on American citizens, you dumbkoft. Or else we're a totalitarian regime. If a prez could spy on anyone he wants just because he says counter-terrorism is a "war" (which has been going on 30 years already) he could quickly become a dictator and take away yuour rights and property along with all of ours. You think Bush gives a damn about you? You're a victim of his. And besides, what makes you believe Bush was spying on external enemies? There's a lot of growing evidence he was really only spying on internal domestic political opponents, including CNN reporters, vegetarian groups, Quakers, the Kerry campaign, rival oil interests and reporters who had a scoop about Bushie corruption. Remember Joe WIlson? What did they do to him? And Joe Wilson is a bona fide American hero appointed by Bush's father. He's not even a liberal. he gave $2000 to Bush-cheney campaign for christ's sake. So what makes you safe? Why support crooks? Very simple question. No spin. You want an administration at war with the truth and US laws both? You want to give up your rights just because Bush's friends the Bin Lauden's son attacked us?
