We do agree on this: Keep on sipping your Right Wing Koolaid and you'll be fine. And by the way, I'm no left winger. If I had my way the left wing loonies and the Religious Right would both get packed off somewhere remote to throw spitballs at each other, and leave those of us with some common sense to govern this country in a sound manner, both fiscally and socially, and with a return of some degree of ethics in government.

What was the first thing we "secured" when occupying Iraq again? Hello??!! What happened the last time during Desert Storm?? Saddam ignited hundreds of Kuwaiti oil fields in a "scorched earth" strategy and created an ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER!! So NO SHT one of our priorities was to avoid a repeat performance of this (can you imagine the negative publicity had we failed to prevent such an act from happening again??) But also, it's NO SHT that the economic wealth upon which the Iraqi economy is based consists of those oil fields. Should it have been our strategy NOT to give a rat's @ss about them, denying the Iraqi people the ability to reconstitute their economy?? And oh yeah.. It's also NO SHT that the US had/has a vested interest in ensuring that the oil flows from Iraq. No you'd have a point Dennis, had the US occupied the oil fields and then claimed all the revenue from them, or just pumped the oil for free to US markets. But WE HAVEN'T DONE THAT. Thus, the argument is specious, if not based upon dysfunctional logic. If I had my way the left wing loonies and the Religious Right would both get packed off somewhere remote to throw spitballs at each other* Whether you believe it or not, I'm completely in agreement with you. The only thing is, I would also pack off all the morons who only how to spew heated rhetoric devoid of logical, or factual, basis. Hawk
