Worshipping your "interconnectedness with the cosmos" sounds like praising God to me. Just a different way of looking at God.

Yes, its interesting - its a sign that humans have an inborm spiritual nature - even atheists.

OTOH - the expression is kinda silly: Imagine congregations raising their voices in tribute to gravity ... rejoicing in the nuclear force ... hymns sung to the antiquity of the universe ..."Hallelujah!", they will sing. "May the force be with you!"

Reminds me of Lynn Margulis (of the "consistent scientific world view" requires disbelief in supernatural beings claim) cofounding the new-agey Gaia hypothesis movement. Or her former husband Carl Sagan (writer of the Demon Haunted World) writing the silly Contact screenplay with its wise all-powerful space aliens.
