Who do you and Ari think will take over from Sharon? I think Olmert is too much of a second in command and Peres to soft. I don't know the others on the list very well at all.

Olmert obviously will, short-term. Apparently, according to Ari, Barak is putting out feelers. He's not happy with how Peretz (the new head of Labor) is heading Labor. If Barak joins Kadima, look out.

Do you think? I thought he was fairly well discredited when he was PM.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Olmert or some other ineffectual leader be in charge for a while. Of this much I'm pretty sure (and I'm not speaking for Ari). For the next 2-3 years, the Prime Minister will be from Kadima, even if he's pretty weak. After that, it's anybody's ballgame. 2-3 years from now, your prediction of Netanyahu taking over is much more feasible.

I generally agree but I don't think it will take 2-3 years. With Sharon out of commission, there is a power vacuum right now and vacuums beg to be filled. And the only one I see who is big enough to fill it is Netanyahu...........unfortunately.

Its such bad luck. With Iran acting out, a mess in Washington and now Sharon going down......it couldn't be any worse if we tried.
