They are wire tapping the communication of "suspected" terrorists who are communicating with "American" citizens. The question is not whether it's OK to eaves drop on terrorists. Of course it is. It's about trusting the government. Perhaps you're willing to trust them to act on your behalf without judicial oversight. I'm not. They have way too much power. And power will be abused.

What is wrong with wanting them to use the FISA court to get warrants? Warrants that are only required when an American citizen is being listened to. They can do so quickly and on a retroactive basis.

"I would object IF THEY DIDNT"

The dems are opportunits imo. I am sure they would object (and viciously attack the President) if he didn't track al quida linked conversations to and from the U.S. if an attack got through.

I read yesterday that FISA has changed or shut down quite a few requests from the Pres. Too much at risk to subject every security move the President makes while we are at war to a beauracratic body. Way too much at risk. If FISA blocked a potential lead that would save lives, do you think the dems would blame FISA, or the President?
