All -

I was at the Apple store in Glendale yesterday. I overheard one of the salespeople talking to another customer about how 1GB Shuffles have been out of stock for two months. He was saying that he felt that was a good indication that a new version of the Shuffle would be introduced at Macworld.

Later, I asked the guy how the Shuffles had been selling after the Nano was introduced. He said they had sold out of the 1GB models after Nanos had already become available, and were still selling a lot of the 512MB model through December.

Looks like the lack of a screen was not an issue even after a similar iPod with a screen arrived.
