That may be very soon if we continue to interfere with the shiaa folks in their govt who want to deal with the terrorists and baaathists that are killing their people at funderals, weddings, and shopping.

Then that is fine with me. They can stare down into the abyss that they created, and we can sit back and criticize them for bloodbath that will unfold.

Our mission, at that point, will be to contain the carnage and prevent it from spreading throughout the region as best we can (and that's a tall order).

But the Iraqi government will have no one to blame but themselves for creating the situation that resulted in that civil war.

One would hope that aren't so foolish as to actually believe that other Sunni Arab states are going to idly sit back and permit Iranian backed Shi'ites to subjugate other Sunnis.

But the primary consideration is that any withdrawal must NOT be perceived as a US retreat, but that the Iraqi government has taken the reins, for better or worse, and that our presence is no longer desired.

Hell, already AQIZ propaganda sites are touting that the announced reductions in US troop levels in Iraq are a "victory for Islam", and that somehow we're "negotiating" with the Mujahidin.
