So if someone scams you, are you so quick to trust them the next time around? I'm not. With Saddam, you are wanting to believe him? I think a betting person would make the smart bet and assume he's lying.

And start a war that has cost us thousands of maimed and dead Americans and $300 billion? A brilliant move that only a jackass would make or someone who has a lot vested in the oil business. Take your pick.
