How can you tell when a lawyer is lying?

His/her lips are moving.

Just remember that a lawyer is required to be an advocate for their client. When a client is not truthful, the lawyer is require to recuse themselves when they discover it. Some times lawyers take a different tack than their clients would have. Often this is because they are able to exist outside of the emotion of the situation. Other times it is because they are less than fully scrupulous.
