How incredibly unaware of history you are. Did you know FDR locked up American citizens of Japanese descent in camps for the duration of the war - that certainly violated a bunch of constitutional rights. During the Civil War, Lincoln also locked up people without criminal charges. In my home town in southern IL, the Union Army shut down the local newpaper. Bush spying on communications with AQ members is extremely minor and is reasonably warranted - unlike the imprisonment of all mainland Japanese-Americans.
