Since we are just guessing, my view would be that younger people are more willing to take on additional risk to retain ideals they believe in, while older folks tend to be more concerned about protecting what they have. Even then, only half the people over 65 are scared enough to give up on the warrant process. And I bet if the poll had included a mention that eavesdropping can be done with 72-hour retroactive warrants, the numbers would have come out even higher against Bush's approach. Just a guess of course.
