The rightwing is unrepentent. They cannot be negotiated with. They refuse to clean their own house. They have guys running to replace Delay who are nearly as bad as he is. And now they are spreading false rumors that Kerry took 98 K from Abramoff. I confirmed it with Kery's #2 guy today. He adamantly denies it. They took nothing from Abramoff. But all next week Hannity, Limbaugh and Newsmax will be putting out that lie. And many other lies and smears as well. First we need to stop Alito. Then propose massive new ethical standards for congress and the White House. Then Fitzgerald will probably indict Rove (and others). Then moderates like McCain will find themselves in the catbird seat and the rightwing will gradually be decimated and marginalized. The crowning blow will be to take both houses away from them in November then impeach and remove Bush-Cheney for high crimes against the American people. Not just a fantasy anymore. It could very well happen. But the rightwing will fight like cornered rats the whole way.
