That's funny how you perceive my efforts to stay on point as trips down the garden path. Were you 'damning" Bush and all Evangelicals, or just Bush and "some of them?" I wasn't damning anybody. See, there's another example of people perceiving a put down when none was made. You might want to share with me where you perceived a put-down, unless you consider that a trip down the garden path.Maybe you can define exactly what you meant by your original comment. Sure. That's easy. I was working off this list of characteristics of evangelicals that I collected once upon a time. >>John C. Green, director of the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics at the University of Akron in Ohio, said that despite many variations, evangelicals generally adhere to four core beliefs: the Bible is without error, salvation comes through faith in Jesus and not good deeds, individuals must accept Jesus as adults and all Christians must evangelize.<< Bush is reported to have said that salvation only comes through Jesus. You wanted a direct quote but I could find only reports of him having said that. But given that Bush is considered an evangelical and evangelicals believe that, it's simple logic to conclude that Bush believes that. If A equals B and B equals C, then A equals C.Therefore, if you damn Bush, you are damning Hillary as well, IMO. LOL That, OTOH, is counterlogical. First of all, recognizing someone as an evangelical is not damning them. Secondly, that Bush and Hillary claim the same denomination does not make them both evangelicals. If A equals B and B does not equal C, then A does not equal C.
