It simply means they don't have a scheduled game.

Ted, I was reading made this comment......"teams with bye"; then underneath were the Seahawks and the Bears both of which have home games next week. Do you know what they mean by "teams with bye"? I've never seen that phrasing before.

A common phrase used for teams who don't have games scheduled for the week.

Funny you should mention the Seahawks, BTW. They'll be playing the Redskins at Seattle this Saturday. Go Skins!
