Well sometimes you have a way with words and sometimes you don't. But I would suggest all you really saw was a natural evolution of what technology made possible. The left has had no intellectual core for decades. The slow self recognition or attrition has lead to more and more shrill individuals remaining on the left and all they have is nuts and sluts type of tactics. The 92 event that made the difference is that a nut ran against the first Bush and took enough votes away that clinton snuck into office. clinton brought us into the age of dems as the party that only saw enemies, in his way he brought the party to a Nixonian mindset. Rush was just an able entertainer who had the perfect subject for material that rubbed decent folks the wrong way. But for dems clinton was a soothsayer with smile who made them feel good and he taught them how to attack and destroy as the tactic, the only tactic.
