Yeah! What would buying a Democrat get you? A filibuster!? The Dems can't get ANY legislation to the floor, period. The Dems don't have even ONE comittee chairman in either house. In the chimp's 51% strategy, they are a totally neutered party. All the Dems can do is block a few really odorous Repugnican bills and appointments, and only when they can get a few sane Repugnicans to help.

DElay's K Street project was totally corrupt. It was designed to use guys like Abramoff to bring tens of millions into the rightwing of the GOP (through Delay himself, some of which he skimmed). In fact extortion and coersion was used to get lobbyists to give more and more and more. All for direct exchange of congressional legilslation which was bad for the American people and only good for the lobbyist's client. This is pure corruption. And not a single democrat is involved.
