Bain Capital has agreed to acquire the Sensors & Controls business of Texas Instruments Inc. (NYSE: TXN) for $3 billion in cash. Sensors & Controls is based in Attleboro, Mass., and supplies engineered sensors and controls to the appliance, climate control, industrial, automotive, lighting, and aircraft markets.The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2006, with financing to be provided by Morgan Stanley, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs. TI was advised by Morgan Stanley on the deal.
