I just love those bozos on the infomercial channel and other outlets that say stuff like "If January is an up month, statistics suggest the year will be an up year." You could have a 10% advance in January, give back 9.9% of it the next 11 months, and the prediction will have been fulfilled. That first 5-days stuff is pretty dumb too. Any random year probably has a 75% probability of being an up year.
