hmmm...but then we're talking about a "paper gain" vs a "realized gain". So you take away my opportunity to either pat you on the back or to laugh at you. :-)

All of the "paper gain" you've made since January of '05...or the last 2 weeks, depending how you look at it <GG>, can disappear in 1 day. Let me know when you sell, so I can then respond appropriately. :-)

I do wish you Good Luck....fwiw.

Nonsense to me.

<<people who try to time the market consistently underperform those who diversify their holdings>>

What does timing the market have to do with diversification?

Maybe you meant:

<<people who try to time the market consistently underperform those who sit on their holdings>> because this is evidence that buy and hold is the "best" strategy.

I question that, now that commissions are so much lower than when those studies were done.

Cisco has much too much risk for someone seeking 10% per year.

And, <<NO ONE knew Cisco was going to be flat all of 2005>>, no one on this board except me. I was within 1% of the close on 12/30.

You'll probably say I didn't "know" and it was a guess.

NO ONE knew Cisco was going to be flat all of 2005.

Ahem... some of us have been calling for Cisco to be flat for the better part of a decade... for a period now going on the better part of a decade!
