Today, does society think it's ok to be an alcoholic?

Well, having a family member who has served a number of years in state prison for his continuous willingness to drive while drunk, I would say that tolerance has DEFINITELY decreased.

I also had a close friend of mine killed in a head-on collision on a separated four-lane highway back in the early '80s. I still feel her loss.

At least I don't see as many TV shows that seem to glorify being drunk. However, I've heard that college kids are engaging in "power hour" drinking bouts..

I wonder how many of them would be doing this if alcohol were illegal again and there were facing incarceration for being publicly drunk.

Again.. I'm debating a contentious issue and I don't have the answer.
