Alito is a big fan of Bork and thinks the president should have more power. He's a divisive choice too far to the right. He may get in, but it's not what America needs. Also, he's a conservative Catholic mama's boy whose outspoken mother stated Alito is very much against sexual and reproductive rights. 70% of Americans believe a judge like that should not be on the SC. Bush played to the religious right in naming Alito and as we know, the religious right are wrong.
