I was talking to a broker friend of mine over the weekend and he said that the fact that emc pre-released earnings that were neither bad nor great was making investors nervous. It is as though the investors were expecting a surprise on the 24. Remember this is a company whose management is made up of a bunch of arrogant sobs that have the tendency to exaggerate like they did in 2001 when investors were led to believe growth was still very robust when in reality it was not only down sharply but it would become negative eventually. This could be an over reaction. We'll soon find out.
