Alito Is Well Prepared for Hearings

I agree. Alito is well prepared and he is a slam dunk to be confirmed. He is not in any way revealing how he would decide issues coming to the supreme court. At least, not in so many words, but I know from his facial expression and body language:

1. He is against abortion. His mom knows this as well as anybody else. He will have the rest of his life to work on some legal means to overturn Roe vs. Wade.

2. He is for tradition. He supported trying to keep Princeton the way it was in the past with few if not any women and minorities enrolled. Even though he boasted in 1985 on a resume of his membership in a club whose members said outrageous things about Jews, women, and minorities, he does not now remember being active in that organization.

3. He has more memory problems wrt how he reneged on recusing himself from a case involving a mutual fund (Vanguard) investment of his 12 years after he said he would recuse himself from cases involving people and organizations from a list of his own making that included his mutual fund investment. At first they tried to blame it on a computer glitch and then Orin Hatch thought that there was an implied time limit that that list was subjected to. Although I don't think he did anything unlawful, I think that explanation is a bit too weasily for an aspirant to the SC.

4. Similarly, his words about how no one was above the law, in reference to limits on Presidential powers, there were some weasily language about how things may need interpretation.

Somehow he does not give me the comfort I need for someone to be sitting on the SC for the next 25 to 35 years.

Judge Alito certainly has Rush Limbaugh on his side... I listened to him yesterday denigrate the Democrats who were doing the questioning. He has chutzpah all right. He said of Kennedy... Well, his aides do all the work anyway as he cannot wait until the 5pm drinking hour.

He said of Spector so many nasty remarks that I commenced to get upset about someones freedom to be so vitriolic on the radio...

Biden of course took a beating too. IN fact all the interviews were wrong and only Alito was right...

Rush is certainly not a view from the center as he is all one sided.. Trouble is that he misused the word empathy. He said that those Liberal Democrats have none.. but he used it outside of the context in which he was speaking.

Wonder why we haven't had any convictions yet or any information on the many prescriptions that Rush used from various Doctors for his drug problem. It would seem if one has the right lawyers..requiring a lot of money... that one can get away with anything. Now, I don't resent that he became addicted as that can happen to anyone with pain. What I do resent is how he lambasted drug addicts for years and had only one solution, lock them up... HE DID NOT HAVE EMPATHY FOR THEM AT ALL.. so I have none for him.

I don't think that was what he intended.. Empathy was

Alito Is Well Prepared for Hearings

I hope the Dems grow a spine and aggressively oppose this guy.

He has issues with the truth and tends to say whatever it takes to get the respective job.

Plus he buys into the limitless power for the POTUS school of thought, which is hardly what our republic needs at this point.
